Beyond the Classroom – The Student Experience

The College of Engineering offers you so much more than just a first-class engineering education. As a student, you have access to a wide variety of groups, opportunities, organizations and services that will help make your time on campus memorable and unique.

Andrea Grimaldo Moreno

“My favorite part of being an Engineering student is my work with Engineers Without Borders and as a Student Coordinator for the Engineering Outreach Initiative. It’s exciting to see how a water system is designed and created for small communities miles away from Madison! In EOI, I love the new programs and activities my team has created to promote STEM in underrepresented communities in Madison.” – Andrea Grimaldo Moreno

“One of my favorite experiences thus far was studying for a semester abroad in Sheffield, England. The International Engineering Studies Program (IESP) office handled the exchange set-up and the advisors worked with me to fit the experience in my four-year university plan. All of IESP’s programs are paired with technical universities across the globe, so I was able to take several engineering classes that counted towards my degree. I had an amazing time living in a foreign country and made many great friends from all over the world.” – Collin Haese
